Heavy Metal T-Shirt design tutorial 1 (level: medium)

ROUGH: In this project the band described their idea and wanted an ancient engravers feel to it. A rough sketch submitted with notes on the tweaks for the final rendition. Not so much concerned with the details yet as with having the band agree on their idea represented. Once approved we'll fine tune the sketch and ink it up traditional old school style. INKS: Lots off crosshatching & references to Old woodcuts, even Robert Crumb brought to the table. Acceptable to move onto the colors. Stay tuned for the "how to" on inks coming in future posts... Bristol Board 14 x 17 Sharpie marker

Welcome. I've often heard that a life worth living is worth recording. Well baby, Facebook isn't it. In these future columns we will attempt to document the atypical life a horror/ heavy metal illustrator well saddled into career onto it's final destination. My mission is to give something of myself unto you my dear reader and in return surely some discoveries and epiphanies of my own along the way ...
