Scott Jackson Monsterman Graphic Photos Prt. 1

Earliest intro to Horror conventions circa 2008. Metal & Horror blend like fine wines, to-which this slight detour would become a lasting journey.

It began at Transworld's Haunted attraction show in Chicago. A chance meeting with horror con celebrity Ari Lehman (1st Jason Voorhees of F13 fame), discovered mutual interests in the horror/ music scene and quickly became friends.Which led into a shared table at Horrorhound Weekend Indianapolis. Which led into an artwork cover commission by FX master Tom Savini. Combining these events, an opportunity sprang to webmaster Philadelphia's Monster-Mania Horror Convention, which nailed the decision that catering to horror related themes could be a permanent vocation. Monsterman Graphic is launched.

Heavy Metal T-Shirt design tutorial 1 (level: medium)

ROUGH: In this project the band described their idea and wanted an ancient engravers feel to it. A rough sketch submitted with notes on the tweaks for the final rendition. Not so much concerned with the details yet as with having the band agree on their idea represented. Once approved we'll fine tune the sketch and ink it up traditional old school style. Learn appropriate rough submissions in this series.

Every Picture Tells a Story...

Welcome. I've often heard that a life worth living is worth recording. Well baby, Facebook isn't it. In these future columns we will attempt to document the atypical life a horror/ heavy metal illustrator well saddled into career onto it's final destination. My mission is to give something of myself unto you my dear reader and in return surely some discoveries and epiphanies of my own along the way ...
